We are completely focused on providing integration services to the education sector helping Schools use the data they already have, to provision, maintain and manage Active Directory, Office 365, SharePoint, Exchange and Google Apps. SalamanderSoft was founded in 2007 by Richard to provide integration products and services to schools. He’d worked in the education integration sector for a couple of years as a contractor and wanted to strike out on his own, but also work from home as he had young children. The initial product, and still the most popular, was Salamander Integration Suite (formerly known as Salamander Active Directory), although with limited functionality compared to the current product. Support for SharePoint quickly followed and then Moodle, Office 365 and Google G Suite.
The aim, as it is now, is to give our customers exactly what they want, no matter how complicated, so that all their systems are seamlessly linked. Initially, it was just Richard doing all the coding, installation, support and sales with Helen doing the bookkeeping and accounts. Eventually, even though our marketing was just word of mouth, we had too many customers for one person to support and we hired our first full-time employee, Jon, in 2013. Since then the team has gone from strength to strength and we now have 9 people working for SalamanderSoft.
